SHERRI LEIGH PEAVY's Obituary
MACON –
Sherri Leigh Peavy, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 2, 2022, at her residence. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Save-A-Pet, 430 Maynard Church Road, Forsyth, GA 31029, or Women Reaching Our Community (WROC), P. O. Box 438, Perry, GA 31069.
Sherri was born on September 23, 1964, in Perry and was the daughter of the late J.D. and Eugenia Gillispie Peavy. She was a graduate of Perry High School and Mercer University. Sherri spent over thirty years at the non-profit organization Hodac, Inc. in Warner Robins until it’s closing in 2017. She currently worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections in Forsyth, GA, in the Purchasing Division. Sherri lived in Macon since 1993 and appreciated the history, architecture, and culture found in Macon. She was a valuable member of her neighborhood where she lived in a ninety+-year-old house. She loved her four-legged children and was active in animal rescue in various ways. Sherri worked at Save-A-Pet where she also served as a Board Member. In addition to her love and respect for animals, she enjoyed being outside in the sunshine, hiking, or working in the yard. Sherri was a spiritual, kind, compassionate being who will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Sherri are her partner, Deborah M. “Debbie” Vetter of Macon; her sisters, Cindy Collier (Bennie, Jr.) of Perry, and Lisa O’Neal (O’Malley) of Naples, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
