Sam was a long time employee of the Division of Plant Industry, the plant protection branch of the Florida Department of Agriculture. Sam was a warrant officer in the 2/116 Field Artillery battalion in the Florida Army National Guard. We served together in that unit for several years. He was a friend and a supporter of my chaplaincy program with the unit. Blessings to his family during this time of loss.
