Today I choose to celebrate my ol' friend & neighbor’s life. Today I realized that sometimes God puts a special hidden blessing in one's life to enjoy and when it's not there anymore fond memories remain with a smile bringing a smile and warmth to one's heart.
Today I choose to remember Mr. P nailing that 12-15lb catfish to the tree he caught in our pond that him and Rodney had a large time with as they scaled him together. I had never seen such.
Today I choose to remember Mr. P as the one who would feed my fat lab dog, it seemed to be loaf of bread every morning. I wondered how in the world she stayed so hefty, until I seen her leaving Mr. P's house one morning with a loaf of bread in her mouth. She loved him.
Today I choose to remember Mr. P as the one I would see enjoying Rodney's herd of goats as he fed them from the back of his little truck that he had filled over from a friend's garden. I also remember him not liking our donkey because the donkey was mean to the goats. Might I say he was not afraid to tell Rodney what he thought of that donkey either.
Today I choose to remember Mr. P having the prettiest yard in the neighborhood. I would so enjoy watching his Cana Lily beds awake ever spring. Mr. P took pride in his well-groomed yard. The pine straw was never out of place.
Today I choose to remember Mr. P in his front yard early in the mornings with his boxer shorts on, the t-shirt with the smiley face, his robe, and that crazy golf hat with the ball on top...Always put a smile on my face right off to begin the day as I left for work.
Today I say a prayer for Mr. P's family God asking for you to encamp your angels around them all during this time and the days to come. Today God I asked that you especially take care of Mrs. P by comforting her in your special way and by blessing her with Mr. P's spiritual presence in their home. Today God I thank you for the blessing of placing this sweet rascal in mine, Rodney and Jacob's path. In Jesus name....Amen
