Melissa was born in Houston County and graduated from Perry High School in 1996. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administrative Services from Macon State College. She moved to Tifton and worked at First Community Bank for several years then accepted the position of Practice Manager at Tifton Women’s Center. Four years ago, Melissa moved to Lake Sinclair where she enjoyed Lake Life daily and worked at Central State Hospital as the Leave/Benefits Specialist in Human Resources. Melissa grew up listening to and loving music. Attending concerts and live-music performances was one of her favorites things to do in life. She would almost always have music playing if she was awake. She spent time exercising, walking, and gardening, all the while listening to her music. Melissa loved dogs, including her newest “baby,” a Golden Doodle, Maddie Rose; her “fur brother,” J.J.; and her precious dog, the late Bailey Bug, who will be laid to rest in her arms. She loved holidays, especially Christmas when she had so much fun buying gifts for her family and friends.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Melissa are her mother, Susan Miller Law of Eatonton; her father and step-mom, Jimmy and Sara Land Law of Haynesville; her fiancée, Alan Kramer of Tifton; her paternal grandmother, Frances E. Law; her uncles and aunts, Bobby and Deborah Law, Winfred and Helen Law, and Tony and Jackie Miller; her “bonus” siblings, Pam Flournoy, Kristie and Peter Gatto, and Richie Moncrief; several cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, CSM Rollin and Ann Miller; her paternal grandfather, James R. Law, Sr.; and her Uncle Harry R. Braddy.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry has been entrusted with the arrangements.
