Mrs Joan Marie Davis Evans' Obituary
Joan Marie Davis Evans, age 81, departed this earth to be with the LORD at sunrise on February 13, 2016. Born on September 25, 1934, in Bayou La Batre, AL, she was the daughter of the late Thomas William Davis and the late Bertha Myrick Davis. She graduated from Alba High School. Mrs. Jo faithfully served in full time ministry along side her husband, Dr. William Bryce Evans for 66 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. William Bryce Evans, one son, Donald Bryce Evans of Daphne, AL, and two daughters, Dinah Evans Byrd of Wilmer, AL and Dana Evans Walters of Covington, LA, a brother, Thomas William Davis Jr. of Moss Point, MS and a sister, Jane Davis Olsen, of Salem, VA . Mrs. Evans' Christian legacy will continue on through the lives of her five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Visitation for the extended family will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00-10:00 am. Public visitation will follow from 10:00am - 11:00am with a celebration of her life service beginning at 11:00am officiated by Reverend David Perry in the Serenity Chapel of the Chimes. Mrs. Evans will be interred at Lawn Haven Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, AL.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Finishing the Work, Inc.
