Mr. Guest was born in Macon to the late James W. and Alice Keene Guest. He attended Lanier High School and proudly served his country in the U. S. Marines. After a tour in Vietnam, he was awarded the the Navy Achievement Medal for outstanding achievement in the superior performance of his duties by exhibiting outstanding judgement in leadership preventing enemy infiltration into a particular Vietnamese Village his battalion was patrolling and protecting. Upon his return to the U.S., he then became active in the Marine Reserves until 1974. Mr. Guest owned and operated Jimmy Guest Construction for over 20 years. His first love was his family. He treasured children and enjoyed camping and visiting the mountains, fishing, and being outdoors with his family and friends. Mr. Guest truly loved his country, and the bond he formed with his fellow Marines was very special. He looked forward to the annual Marines reunion every year. He was a Baptist. Mr. Guest was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Guest.
Left to cherish the memories of their "Daddy" are his daughters, Shannon Paine (Adam) and Lauren Wrabel (Chris), both of Macon. He was "Grandpapa" to Olsen Kate, Benjamin, Sheldon, Grace Anne, and Sophia. His sister, Alicia Long (Mike) of Kathleen, also survives.
