Dearest Nancy,
Condolences to you and your family in such a precious loss. What sweet memories.
Love,
Linda Rodgers Goodman
I loved it when Brook Beatty and I would visit Jim. He loved my bundts - one in particular was my Irish Cream cake. We drove done one weekend & I made two cakes, Brook got them out of car, I told him to make sure cake carrier was closed good - next thing I know Jim's cake was on the driveway - Jim said wait it fell straight so top hasn't touched driveway - the scrap a small piece off top for Jim. He was in Brook all weekend for that. I loved visiting with him sitting in garage and talking. He will be missed - he was more than a father-in-law,he was a good friend.

Jimmy, as I knew him, was a special neighbor & friend from our youthful days in Andrew Heights. He was a stellar athlete, often beating some of us older boys in a game of H-O-R-S-E or one on one. We honed our football skills at the sandlot circle long before PHS had a program. I regret I cannot attend his visitation, but will be present in spirit. Memories of our time together will continue to be cherished.
To the Beatty family,
I got to know Jim after he moved back to Perry. In doing the Perry High football research I realized he was one of the stars on Perry’s first 3 football teams. He answered several questions to help me in my research of Perry football. I always enjoyed talking with him about Perry football. My condolences to all of the family.
Jimmy was a vital player on Perry's 1956 basketball team as the '56 team won the state championship. Jimmy was truly a great player and a great person. I appreciated him very much and enjoyed his company.
