George Bedford's Obituary
DUBLIN – George W. Bedford, 90, formerly of Kathleen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary at Friendship Baptist Church in Warner Robins. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Mr. Bedford proudly served our country in the Army Air Corps. Upon his return from the military, he worked in Civil Service in Mobile, Alabama, and Dayton, Ohio, and retired at Robins Air Force Base as an Equipment Specialist after over 35 years of service. While living in Alabama, Mr. Bedford was a Mason and a Past Master. He had lived in Kathleen for the past 28 years prior to moving to an assisted living facility in Dublin just a few months ago. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Warner Robins. George was a master craftsman and carpenter who was involved in the building of numerous churches and homes. His generosity to his fellow man knew no bounds. He was the best Daddy anyone could ever ask for and such a great man to all who knew him. Mr. Bedford was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Clyde and Ola Mae Hipps Bedford; and his brothers, Carl Bedford, Hoyle Bedford, Earnest Bedford, and Leroy Bedford. Left to cherish the memories of George are his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Tommy Sue Bedford of Dublin; his children, Wayne Bedford (Kathy) of Warner Robins, Wanda Roberts (Rick) of Germantown, Ohio, Barbara Evans (Rickie) of Rentz, Donna Lang (Chris) of Warner Robins, and Bill McCain and Jeff Kenner of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Dorothy Jean Mason (John), of Tupelo, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a number of great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
