MARSHALLVILLE-Gene Chapman, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 23, 2017. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. in Oaklawn Cemetery in Ft. Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks for memorial donations be made to Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, P.O. Box 52, Perry, GA 31069.Gene was born in Ft. Valley to the late D.C. and Willie Skipper Chapman. A lifelong resident of Marshallville, he loved working outdoors. He spent some of his life farming, and then was in the construction industry for a while, and owned and operated Hi-Tech Fence Company for over 20 years. Gene was always very independent and a free spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, David Chapman.Survivors include his sister, Vivian Moore (Johnny) of Perry; his sister-in-law, Linda Chapman; his nieces and nephews, Max Moore, Nancy Moore, Tangee Thornton, Keeli Jones, Clete Chapman, and Corby Chapman; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.Condolences for the family may left online at www.watsonhunt.com.
