PERRY – Elder Gordon Clark Buchanan, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Memorial Heights Baptist Church with the Read Obituary
Elder Gordon Buchanan was such a joy to my husband JW and me. We knew him well and I remember so often seeing him playing checkers at Cracker Barrel. He and George delighted us w their fishing stories and banter. He was a man of faith and kindness.
Gordon was a good and godly man. I know he'll be missed by all who knew him.
I WORKED WITH GORDON SEVERAL YEARS WE SHARED THE BIBLE AND
PRAYED TOGETHER DAILY ON OUR LUNCH BREAK. HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN
AN INSPIRATION TO ME. WILL DEARLY MISS HIM.

Brother Gordon used to come and pick me, my sister Connie, and my brother jerry up to come to church back in 1965. West griffin was having a special meeting and brother Gordon had asked my brother to come and play the piano which he did joyfully. We came with him. The guest speaker was brother joe Wilson and as I remembere we had a crowd. Brother Gordon continued to pick us up until jerry got a car. I am the only sibling who continued to come to church. Through the years brother Gordon taught me through his ministry to love the lord, devotion, and goodness. He was an inspiration and someone I always looked up to. I loved him with a Christian love. I am thankful to still be a member of west griffin baptist church after fifty years but i still think of those times and memories with brother gordon😀😟
