I literally "grew up" at Fincher's on Houston Avenue during my high school years. My grandfather, Ernest Leaptrot, owned the Texaco station across the street. Although Doug will be greatly missed, I continue to frequent any location that happens to be close!
My dad and grandparents always talked about Finchers as if we were family...then as the years went by and our trips to Finchers continued I realized that the Finchers treated everyone like family. My dad n uncle Robert n Jimmy Sims talked about their early years at Finchers and all their good memories. Each of you continue to make memories for so many folks and Big Doug and his beautiful wife Alice have and continue to positively impact the Macon Bibb community. Know that we care and he will be missed by many, and thanks for all the memories!
Ms. Alice, Doug & Jake: May the Lord give you comfort and strength. We will certainly miss Big Doug when we come in.
