Don was so much fun in high school and through the years. Your buddies miss you, Don. We all do.
My sincere condolences to his family. Mr. Chapman was one of my favorite people at Cedar Shoals HS. My two sons were fortunate to have attended school while he was there. They both adored him, as did I.
Gone too soon. You will be missed.
Donna I. Brewster
I am so sorry to hear about Don's passing. Don and I grew up together and graduated together in 1965. Frosty, a small group of high school buddies, and I ran together and had such great fun. We spent countless days and weeks and a thousand miles running between downtown and the old Dairy Queen. That was our Hangout.
I was fortunate to get to know a lot of the Chapman family. Don was proud of his family. The Chapman family was one of the most powerful families in Houston County. Don and I used to go to the old jail and witness High Sheriff C.C. Chapman in action. At the time, the High Sheriff was the most powerful man in the county. Mr. "Skeet" and Mr. Ed kept the peace in Perry and Houston County. Mrs. Chapman was a friend to all. I am a better man for having known the Chapmans.
Frosty was a unique character and a serious guy. He was a first-class philosopher and raconteur and a really good guy. He seemed to be wise beyond his years. We used to joke with him and tell him that we thought when he was born that he was born as a grown man, not as a child.
Frosty, we hate to see you go, but if you are listening, save us a place at the table. We will be along later. Thanks for all the good times and memories. We love you, brother.
