Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dan's family. I first met Dan and Mike in 1960 at the Columbia feast meeting not long after uncle J and aunt Doris were married and knew him for 59 years. He was such a genuine person and had such a good outlook on life. He was always the same person if you saw him at church or on the job, he was always the same. He was always ready to help with any project where he felt he was needed.
Dan drove the Sunday school bus in Norfolk for many years, picking up neighborhood children and was dedicated to that ministry (even when the bus was not a new bus and didn't always start). The bible says that we are all "able ministers of the gospel" and Dan ministered to the needs of others all of his life. I feel so blessed to have known him and our love and prayers go out to his family in your loss.

Dan will be miss by me and alot of other people. I have known Dan when his family move to Norfolk in about 1960. Dan was well like by everyone he met. He would help anyone at the drop of a hat. His family are in my prayers.
This awesome friend of mine has been such a blessing to me all my life ever since I was a small girl about the age of 6. His dear sister is my Aunt Doris and his other dear sister Lily was my made of honor at my wedding 50 years ago. So we go way back Dan and I do. He carried me around in his truck as a teenage girl would carry us out after church on Friday and Wednesday night. And might I add this guy would give you the shirt off his back. They don’t come smy finer than Dan. We will miss his big smile and huge heart. Love and prayers go all his family that is left behind.
