Daniel was born on September 21, 1951, to the late Archie and Berta Barfield Collier, the youngest of their twelve children. He learned electronics at a young age and, after Peach County High School, got his experience in a TV shop in Fort Valley. He accepted a position at Robins Air Force Base with Civil Service in Aircraft Electronics. Through the years, many came to depend on Daniel for his expertise, and he was promoted to Quality Assurance Specialist. He retired after working there for over thirty years. Daniel was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed all of the time spent with his boys at the Flint River, where he took them many, many times during their lives.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his five brothers, and his four sisters.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Daniel are his wife of forty-nine years, Dee Miller Collier of Perry; his children, Holly Parks Henderson (Pat) of Johnson City, TN, and Jeremy Collier (Jessica) and Josh Collier (Rebecca), both of Perry; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brown, Payton Collier, Lleyton Collier, and Jagger Collier; his great-grandchild, Carson Plummer; his brothers, Sonny Collier (Bonnie) and Melvin Collier, both of Fort Valley; and many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
