Charles Leroy 'Peenut' Tharpe's Obituary
Charles Leroy "Peenut" Tharpe, 65, passed away on Tuesday night, November 1, 2016, after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends at 2:00 on Friday, the hour preceding the service. A Private Interment will be held immediately following the service. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.Chuck was born in Perry to the late Erastus and Pauline Ratterree Tharpe. He was a graduate of Perry High School. He spent his entire career as an auto parts salesman, working at Dan Nelson Auto Parts, NAPA, and many years at Advance Auto Parts until his retirement. Peenut was a loyal member of AA since 1981. He knew auto parts like he knew the back of his hands, and collected match box cars, particularly Hot Wheels, all of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jana Beavers; and a brother-in-law, Lonnie Wise. Left to cherish the memories of Peenut are his brother, James R. Tharpe; his sisters, Jeannette Parker (Wendell), Wanda Coleman (Wayne), Dana Herring (Dale), and Susan Wise; his brother-in-law, Robert Beavers; and many nieces and nephews.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
