BRENDA WEAVER WILLIAMS's Obituary
Brenda Weaver Williams, who loved to be called “Mimi” by her grandkids, departed her loving family on Monday, August 9, 2021. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in Perry Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Brenda was born in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late William Cline and Ruby McFarland Weaver. A high school graduate of Gordon Military College in 1969, Brenda also graduated from trade school and became a licensed Cosmetologist at a salon in Macon. She married the love of her life, James Harvey “Jim” Williams, and they eventually moved to Perry. In 1985, she began her career with the Houston County Board of Education greeting visitors and educators, alike, with her happy face and jovial voice, which she also shared with callers when answering phone calls to HCBOE’s central office on Main Street. Brenda retired after twenty-nine years of service, meeting thousands of educators, and making countless friends. Brenda loved traveling with her husband, especially to her favorite beach, Destin, Florida, and her favorite place, St. Simons Island, Georgia. She loved Jesus and enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music. Brenda had a very giving heart and delighted in helping others in need. Her joy and passion for cooking and baking touched the souls of many people. Her grandchildren were her world, and she loved her granddogs, too.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Billy Weaver and Tony Weaver.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Brenda are her loving and devoted husband of fifty-one years, Jim Williams of Perry; her daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Roy Myers of Juliette, Georgia, and Carmen and Doug Neil of Perry; and her grandchildren, Cole Myers, Chloe Myers, and Easton Neil.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral has been entrusted with the arrangements.
