Sending my prayers for your comfort and peace. My family served with the Burton’s in Gainesville, Florida 1st Ward through the 1980’s. Bob was a good man, father and friend.
My love for the Burton family has been ongoing for the past 45+ years!!! They each hold a special place in my heart. Bob's parents, he and Lorie and Danny and myself made a few memorable trips to the Washington DC Temple back in the day. Bob and I worked together for a short while and I enjoyed talking to him each day. His sister Karen will always hold an extra special place in my heart. She has been one of my dearest friends regardless of the age difference. The whole Burton clan have that welcoming and loving attitude toward everyone. Bob will be greatly missed by his family but oh the reunion he will have with his wonderful parents Betty and Cecil, his grandmother "Big Ma" and a very special nephew Ben!! I could go on and on about how special Bob was and what a special family he was a part of. Rest in peace Bob and always remember how much you were loved and admired!!!
I never will forget the times we spent together in high school. Bob was a good friend. I will always remember at our 50th reunion when Bob stayed at Gene‘s house when he came out back on the patio and was teasing Gene about his toilet paper and when he and Daryl were getting ready to go grab something to eat he wanted to make sure that Daryl was bringing his wallet. Gene told us how that Bob would put his name on the things that he put in his refrigerator and Gene and Daryl would eat and drink them anyway. Our last meeting was when Bob came up for Gene‘s funeral and took Cindy and myself Danny and his wife out for dinner.
Our condolences and prayers go to his family. God bless.

What a fun guy and good friend . Will be missed by all of us at GCHS
My prayers and condolences to Bob's family. Unfortunately the last time that I saw Bob was at Gene's memorial. Rest in peace brother.
Bob Burton…. One of the good guys, for sure!
#65 Gator… Class of 1970! It’s wonderful that the Gators have stayed close, over 50 years since graduating.. and consider each other family!
I remember one lunch with Bob, Gene, Ricky, Cindy.., I almost couldn’t eat lunch ( Gilligans in GC.. ), as Bob just kept us in stitches, laughing! 🥰
He thought the world of his best friends from school, and they thought the world of him.
Bob had his children and family whom he adored, and loved… he treasured what was important… and He knew and loved the Lord. He made a difference for GOOD!! He will be missed by many!
