May the peace of God surround the whole family knowing Annette is with the Lord.
Annette was a wonderfully kind and generous person. Anyone who was around her knew of her love for the Lord, her passion for music and her amazing intellect. I am very saddened by her passing but know she is rejoicing in Heaven. Her family is in my prayers!
Annette was a beautiful, kind and loving person. She loved the Lord above all else. I will miss her and her joy filled laugh. Rest In Peace my friend. May God bring peace to all who loved her
Annette (Bessemer High School, Class of 1960, Greensboro, NC) was my childhood hero who trained - for many years - with our own BHS Alumni Maurice Bunting, our musically gifted choir director at Bessemer Methodist Church. She also took piano lessons - for as many years - from Mrs Crawford in our small piano room on our BHS school campus. Both long-time, developmental opportunities were located directly across the street from each other - no more than 150' away - which allowed Annette to manage her school work and her music lessons successfully. Most importantly, Annette benefited from these two musical geniuses who put their young artistic protege in their hearts. Thus, everyone in our church and school community marveled at Annette's exceptional musical talents for over a decade. My brother and I - who also took piano lessons from Mrs. Crawford - loved Annette and David dearly. (David played on the BHS football and basketball teams with my brother for years.) Because our school community was so close-knit and our classes attended all twelve years together, we were just like brothers and sisters. Annette and David were popular favorites and George and Ruth were effective community leaders and devoted parents. In musical interests, however, beautiful Annette was definitely our mentor and role model; we appreciated her performances in Mrs. Crawford's piano recitals in which she played increasingly difficult pieces year after year, She always performed last on the concert program because she was the most advanced student. No one left early! She also accommodated our locals by playing for many BHS productions, graduations, weddings, etc. We all admired and respected Annette's sacrifices to develop her incredible talents and her faithfulness to our BHS community. She was a vivacious and beautiful spirit whom we all adored. So David, Cathi, Billy, Sam, Maggie, and Patrick, we send our love and deepest condolences. The best tribute to Annette would be to live a full and productive life in the same tradition as George and Ruth.
