PERRY- Alice Leech Gilbert, 101, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Heart of Georgia Hospice Inpatient Care. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Perry United Methodist Church. I Read Obituary
I loved Miss Gilbert!
She always made me feel happy to go to the Perry Library in the basement of the Perry-Houston County Courthouse to pick out books to read. She "awarded" me many "Gold Stars" for the Summer Reading Program each year.

While in my work at Summerhill, I enjoyed knowing and spending time with Alice. She was a highly spirited lady and always smiling. She will be missed.
I am sorry for your loss and pray that God will comfort you during this time as only He can. What a special lady, Mrs. Gilbert was. Her life was an inspiration to me and now heaven has a new special angel.
When I was a child, I loved going to the library when it was in the basement of the courthouse. Mrs. Gilbert would help me select each blueback biography that I loved so much. She was a very special lady.
Bobby, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Alice was my mother's neighbor at Summerhill in Perry. She and I talked about you often. She was a real pleasure to know and had a keen mind.
I thought the world of Miss Alice. She was a wonderful woman, and I enjoyed spending time with her and listening to her lifetime stories that she shared with me. Though it had been awhile since we had spoken, I will always cherish the memories that I have of her.
