PERRY-Zettie Shelnutt Stewart, 76, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, from 5;00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Cross Point Baptist Church Building Fund, 645 Perry Parkway, Perry, Georgia 31069.Mrs. Zettie was born in Harrelson County to the late Charlie R. and Gladys Morris Shelnutt and lived most of her life in Houston County. She was a 1960 graduate of Perry High School. Zettie worked as an F-15 Quality Control Specialist with Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base from where she retired after 30 years of service. As she wrote a few days before meeting our Lord and Saviour, Zettie's "most favorite church on God's green earth" was Cross Point Baptist Church where she was an active member. She enjoyed cooking, especially for the 50's-Plus Supper Club, and was often found volunteering in the kitchen at the church. She was preceded in death by 1 sister and 6 brothers.Left to cherish the memories of Mrs. Zettie are her brother, Walter Shelnutt of Birmingham; her sister, Alice Miles of Twiggs County; a special niece who took care of Zettie for years, Donna Saint-John (Mark) of Perry; and several other nieces and nephews.Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
