Charles “Bear” Johnson, 84 died September 19, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday September 12th from 10am-12pm at Coden United Methodist Church with Rev. Hoyt Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Oddfellow Cemetery. Charles Johnson was born August 19,1931 in Coden, AL the son of Nicholas and Annie M. Johnson. He was a Commercial fishermen, Merchant Marine, Asbestos Workers Local 55 member, U.S. Army veteran, member of Charles Hayes Lodge in B.L.B., and a life long member of the Coden United Methodist Church. On January 28, 1956 he married Dorthy Jean Pittman and is survived by his wife of 59 years, his son, Windsor Charles (Tina) Johnson Jr., three grandchildren Candace (Roland) Ellis, Janice Johnson, and Wendy (Charlie) Nichols, and great grandchild Kayden Ellis, his two brothers Ira Johnson, Frank Johnson, and sister Anna Clark. He is preceded in death by siblings Ardist Johnson, Lena Ladnier, and Marvin Johnson.
