Ms Willie Ruth McCardle's Obituary
Willie Ruth Kendrick McCardle, born January 7, 1922, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the age of 93. She is preceded by her beloved husbands, James Waters and Harvey McCardle, parents, Velma and Charles B. Kendrick, sisters, Velma Lee Miller and Sadie Lucille Bryars and brother, James William Kendrick. She retired from South Central Bell with over thirty-seven years of service. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America. She is survived by two brothers, J.E. “Jud” Kendrick (Mary), D.C. Kendrick (Virginia), sister-in-law, Voncile Kendrick. Willie Ruth is also survived by a special god son, Jon Marc Ebert (Melissa) and their sons, William Brantley and James Marc. She leaves a large family of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly and a host of friends, especially her church family. Visitation was on Tuesday, March 17, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon, with service immediately following, at Fountain of Life Church, 1277 Jubilee Dr., Saraland. Interment was in Pine Crest Cemetery, Dauphin Island Parkway. In lieu of flowers, she has requested memorials go to Fountain of Life Church Building Fund.
