Dearest Carolyn, from time to time, I dig around a little on the internet to check up on people from my past. Today's search led me to Ed Lukemire, which led me to you and then to Joel. I can't believe how crushed I feel (since it has been so many years since I have seen either of you) to hear of Joel's passing. I have many fond memories of times spent with the two of you, and regrets (that are magnified today) as to how I let the years separate us. So sorry for your loss. Mr. Sullivan is a fixture of my childhood memories while playing ball at Flint Field and many in his "Little League Family" are thinking about him with such great fondness. Growing up playing ball with and against Chad and graduating high school with Chad as well, Mr. Sullivan is someone that I'll always remember as a part of my life growing up. My thoughts are with y'all, Mr. Sullivan will certainly be missed!

Chris,Chad,Shirley and Carolyn: For all of us that grew up in Warner Robins, we all lost a little bit of ourselves with Joel's passing. I knew grandpa Sullivan very well and was a little league all star with Joel. He was the fiercest competitor I knew growing up. At twelve years old he was chasing an adult umpire who had called him out. He lived about four doors down across the street. He would come up to my house to play on our swing set. He made a competition out of everything. Even jumping out of a swing backward. At Westside, he and I competed to jump out of a swing backward. Winner got a kiss from fellow 4th grader Teresa Rosenblum. All I got was two broken arms and lost two front teeth. He and I never had a cross word and he was a friend who could always be counted on. Man!! He could play baseball!! My and Judy's prayers go out to you all.
