William Joseph Smitherman's Obituary
William Joseph "Billy" Smitherman, age 50, a native and resident of Mobile, AL passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles David Smitherman. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn "Princess" Smitherman, 2 loving and devoted dogs, Smokey "Bandit" and Tiffany Tiara, mother, Rose Marie Callahan Smitherman, father, Donald T. Smitherman, brothers, Steven (Sophia) Smitherman, Paul "Sonny" Smitherman, aunts, Patricia Dempster, Madeline Martin, Margaret Ann Athey, Mary Jane Emmick, Linda Eschler, uncles, H.L. "Sonny" Callahan, George Callahan, special niece and nephew, Olivia and Paul Smitherman, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Billy loved sports, especially NASCAR racing #14 was his favorite. He was an avid Alabama foot ball fan, loved politics and loved to fish when he could with his best friend, John Bryant Cox. Billy was a kind, loving and gentle soul. His family and friends will miss him dearly for the rest of our lives. He was a longtime employee of Walmart store #853. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Dominics Catholic Church on Burma Rd. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 1pm with visitation starting 12 noon until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers donations made to St. Judes.Arrangements under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd. Theodore, AL 36582.
