William Ted Heath's Obituary
WILLIAM TED HEATH PERRY - Ted Heath, 81, passed away late Thursday, March 29, 2018. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., at the church. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Grace Church, 1736 Houston Lake Road, Perry, GA 31069. Ted was born in Enterprise, Alabama, the son of Talmadge Marion Heath and Willie Pearl Paschal Heath. He graduated from Enterprise High School, Class of 1955, and Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) with a BA in Business Administration in 1960. In Auburn, he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He married Marcilla Jacobs of Perry in 1959. Ted worked for 3M Company for 32 years as Director of Inventory Control in Macon and Atlanta. In Atlanta, he was a dedicated member of Clarkston Methodist Church and the Yancy Sunday School Class and served for many years as Youth Coordinator extraordinaire. After retirement, he and Marcilla relocated to Perry where was an active member of Perry United Methodist Church and Grace Church of Perry. He was a faithful member of the Kiwanis Club of Perry where he served as Secretary and Chairman of the Student Athlete Recognition program. In 2004, the Perry Kiwanis Club named him a George F. Hixon Fellow, one of the Kiwanis Club’s highest honors. In 2005, he was recognized as the Kiwanian of the year. He was a dedicated member of the Men’s Tuesday Morning Prayer Group. Ted’s love for youth and sports permeated his life and was evident in his continued support of his beloved grandchildren. He never retired from sports and coached numerous baseball and softball teams over the years with unconditional kindness and gentleness in all that he did and said. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Talmadge Marion Heath, Jr. and Glen Heath; and his infant daughter, Holly Ann Heath. Left to cherish the memories of Ted are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Marcilla Jacobs Heath; his sister, Mary Jean Heath Feagin of Enterprise, Alabama; his sons and daughters-in-love, Lewis “Lew” and Robin Heath and Mark and Angela Heath, all of Perry; his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Alex Heath, Steven Heath, Timothy Heath, Lauren Heath, and Caid Heath; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
