Mr. Chandler was born in Charleston to the late Daniel William Chandler, Sr. and Fannie Menck Chandler. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a long-time member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Mr. Chandler retired from Charleston County, after 30 years of service, where he was a Building Inspector and Plans Examiner. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent a great deal of time in his huge vegetable garden, harvesting his plentiful crops to graciously share with his friends and family, which he did all of the time. He was predeceased by his brother, D. W. Chandler; and his sisters, Dora Chandler Rodgers and Catherine Chandler Simons.
Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Chandler are his loving wife of 45 years, Martha Hills Chandler; his children, Corbin Chandler, Jimmy Chandler, Ernie Chandler, Bernie Chandler, Elizabeth Kurek (Marty), Charles Mills (Jenny), and Grace Chandler Martin (Patrick); his siblings, Ernest Chandler, Anna Chandler Rickards (Bobby), Mary Chandler Davis (Marvin), and Roy Chandler (Dawn); 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Condolences may be left for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
