Wayne King's Obituary
Wayne King, 73, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013, after an extended illness. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 28, 2013, from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Graveside Services with full military honors will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pavilion in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions to the Mason Home of Georgia, P. O. Box 4183, Macon, GA 31208.
Mr. King was born in Dodge County to the late J. O. and Frances Mullis King. After growing up in Eastman, he proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps, where he served for 4 years. He then joined the Army National Guard and went on to full-time with them where he retired after 22 years of service. He was the Administrative NCO at Delta Company 1/121 Inf. 48th Brigade (Perry National Guard Armory). He was also a member of the Houston Masonic Lodge #35 F & AM in Perry.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Kathy Queen of Byron, Michael King (Joann) of Ft. Valley, and Jeff King of Unadilla; seven grandchildren; twelve great-granchildren; his sister, Sandra Murner of Macon; his brothers, Alan King of Macon, and Thomas K. Tarpley (Trudy) of Byron; and several nieces and nephews.
