Walter ''Walt' 'Buck'' A McHargue's Obituary
Perry, GA Walter A. McHargue, Jr, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at the Perry Hospital in Perry, GA. The family will visit with friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, Perry, Ga. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Riverdale Cemetery, 1000 Victory Dr, Columbus, GA. Mr McHargue, was born in Charleston, SC to the late Walter Albert and Marie McCann McHargue. He had resided in Houston County since 1979, having previously resided in Columbus, GA, where he attended Jordan Vocational High School. He retired in 2004 from Civil Service at Robins AFB, GA after 35 years of federal service. He was a Presbyterian by faith. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Jackson McHargue of Perry, two daughters, Dawn (Dan) Maddox of Clinchfield and Wendy Toliver (Byron Harris) of Perry. Step-children, Marie Weeks (fiance Garrett Malmquist) of Atlanta and Morgan Weeks of Troy, AL, sisters, Marie McCumber of Pearson and Patricia Singleton of Hanahan, SC, two grandchildren, Tucker and Georgia Maddox of Clinchfield, nieces, Terri Mills, Debbie Harris and Judy Driggers, and nephews.
