Vida Herrington Hartfield's Obituary
Vida Herrington Hartfield, age 93, passed away February 24, 2017 in Bay Minette, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.W. Hartfield. She is survived by her daughters Vassie (Robert) Owens and Margaret Sherrard, grandchildren Kriste (Tim) Lewis, Brandon (Erica) Owens, Courtney Owens, Ashley(Joseph) Price, Austin Sherrard, and Annie Sherrard, 6 great grandchildren, beloved nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at First Evangelical Methodist Church with visitation from 10:30am until the funeral time at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Oddfellow Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, AL. Mrs.Hartfield was a resident of Bayou la Batre, Alambama,and a graduate of Alba High School.She was an active member of the First Evangelical Methodist Church and attended her Ladies Prayer circle each week as long as her health permitted, She attended The Emmaus Walk many times and encouraged fellow Christians to take this special journey with her.Mrs.Hartfield served her country in the Navy and Marine branches of the Armed Services during war time,in her later years She enjoyed a trip to Washington DC for The Freedom Honor Flight, a trip sponsored to give Veterans a trip to vist the war memorials, In lieu of flowers ,donations can be made to Wounded Warriors Project using their website.
