VANGIE WAGGETT MILLENDER's Obituary
PERRY, GA -
Evangeline “Vangie” Waggett Millender, 69, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, after an extended illness. Visitation will be on Friday, May 14, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry with Reverend Jamie Powell officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry.
Vangie was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, to the late John Hilton Waggett and the late Gloria Estrella Isabella Piamonte Waggett. She met and married the love of her life, Paul Ross Millender. A homemaker all of her life, Vangie worked daily to create a loving and encouraging environment for their family. She never met a stranger, and just like her Savior, Jesus, she loved everyone for who they were. Vangie made everyone feel so special and loved through her many thoughtful and caring words and acts of kindness. Her bright smile, positive attitude, and sparks of silliness made everyone around her better. Serving and giving were the hallmarks of her days. With her every breath, she praised and honored God. Vangie treasured the times spent and memories made with her family. She continuously prayed for and encouraged them and many others, whether she knew them or not, even on her last earthly day.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Vangie are her loving and devoted children, John Millender (Jocelyn) of Midlothian, TX, Mary Anne Veach (Chris) of Dayton, OH, and Sarah Newbauer (Cameron) of Gainesville, FL; her step-children, Melissa High of Grand Prarie, TX, and Steve Millender of Irving, TX; eleven beautiful grandchildren; one precious great-grandchild; her brothers, Warren Waggett (Gwen), and Davie Waggett (Charlene); and many loving nephews and nieces.
Vangie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty years, Paul Millender.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
