Thomas "Tom" Thornton, 79, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Houston Medical Center. Tom was born in Union Point, Georgia and was the son of the late William C. Thornton and Addie Love Thornton. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday with entombment to follow in Perry Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Rev. Gene McKinney and Rev. Marcus Johnson will officiate. Flowers will be accepted or please make donations to Canine Rescue and Rehab, 235 Mack Thompson Rd, Cochran, Georgia 31014.
Tom was retired from Robins Air Force Base (civil service) and was a United State Navy Veteran.
A lover of all types or animals, he had dogs, cats, goats, sheep, turkeys, and many more.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Wendy Thornton of Kathleen; son, Alex Parker Thornton of Kathleen; siblings, Robert E. "Bud" Thornton (Betty Ann) Thornton and Ann T. Hogan of Warner Robins; sister-in-law, Ginny Thornton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry C "Bill" Thornton.
