Thomas was born on May 10, 1947, to the late Ernest William Brantley and the late Arther Marie Hines in Macon, Georgia. He grew up in Macon, graduated from Lanier High School, and joined the military in 1966. He was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years and received numerous medals and awards during that time. He had been married to his beloved wife, Cynthia Kay Brantley, for twenty-nine years when she passed away in 2019. Thomas enjoyed many hobbies, but his favorite was all kinds of hunting. He wanted to be in the woods from opening day until closing day every season, enjoying the peace and quiet of the woods, whether or not he saw any trophy animals. He also enjoyed both freshwater and saltwater fishing, never knowing what he may catch spending time with nature.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his loving and devoted wife, Cynthia Brantley; and his dear brother, Billy Brantley.
Left to cherish the memories that they made with Thomas are his children, Lee Brantley (Kathy) of Clearwater, FL, Michael Brantley (Michelle) of Hawkinsville, GA, April Lynn Brantley of Warner Robins, GA, James Ira “Jamie” Elledge, lll of Byron, GA, Robert W. Elledge (Crystal) or Warner Robins, GA, and Angel R Elledge of Warner Robins, GA; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, James Saffo of Quincy, FL.
