Theonda Nathaniel Buckholtz, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026, after an extended illness. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Perry Memorial Gardens.
Theonda was born on March 24, 1941, in Gough, Georgia, to the late Theonda Nathaniel Buckholtz, Sr. and Ethel Sumner Buckholtz. Theonda served honorably in the Army for six years after high school. He then worked as a centrifuge operator at an acid and fertilizer plant in Florida, showcasing his expertise in a challenging industry. His adventurous spirit led him to a career as a diver in various significant locations, including the Middle East, North Sea, and Gulf of Mexico, where he played a crucial role in checking and installing oil rigs.
Theonda was preceded in death by his long-time girlfriend of 20 years, Brenda Blalock of Perry, Georgia. His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
