Mrs. Tharon Long Lesage's Obituary
Tharon Long Lesage, 89, passed away on August 7, 2015, joining her recently deceased husband, William N. Lesage, to be together with their Lord forever.Tharon was born in Bon Secour, AL, on June 26, 1926. She devoted her life to caring for her husband and three daughters and serving her Savior as a Sunday School teacher for many years at Riverside Baptist Church, where she was a charter member. She later became a Licensed Practical Nurse, working for a number of years at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting with friends and family and attending craft shows. Her other great love and past time was caring for and enjoying her many cats.She is survived by her three daughters, Twynette Nicholson of Theodore, AL; Sandi Scott (Chuck) of Waco, TX; Tammy Lesage of Ormond Beach, FL and one granddaughter, Tara Simms Hollingsworth (David) of Birmingham, AL. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Douthit (Jake) of Ocean Springs, MS; Jessie Christian (Clyde) of Mobile, AL; Brenda Trevillion (Duke) of Minden, LA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years. Theirs is a beautiful love story as Bill preceded her in death on July 15, 2015, and she followed him 23 days later on August 7, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Richmond and Mollie Long of Eight Mile, AL; her parents in law, Marius and Mamie Lesage of Greenwell Springs, LA, and her son in law, Charles Nicholson of Theodore, AL. Additionally, she is preceded in death by six of her sisters: Thelma Fulford (Preston); Sybil Willis (Russell); Joyce Keller (Bill); Lucille Long; Deloris Johnson (John); and Alice Kopp (Lee).The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to Tharon’s caregivers for their dedication and loving care: Lucy Stafford, Kristy Mobley, Lori Huber, Jennifer Bishop, Annette Lockett, Vanity Lockett and Springhill Home Health & Hospice. They have become an extended part of our family. We have been blessed to have the church family at Riverside interceding in prayer and we also thank the special members of the “God Is Good” Life Class of Cottage Hill Baptist Church for their prayers and support.Visitation is at Serenity Funeral Home on Monday, August 10, 2015, at 10:00 AM for family and 11:00 AM for friends and associates. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 12:00 noon officiated by the Reverend Billy Burtt, Chaplain of Springhill Home Health & Hospice, and Gene Taggert, former Minister of Music at Riverside Baptist Church.
