TED PERFECT's Obituary
Ted H. Perfect, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. The family will visit with friends on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary at Perry United Methodist Church. The family will have a private memorial service on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Elko United Methodist Church for family only. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Elko United Methodist Church, Oak Street, Elko, GA 31025, or Mayo Clinic, 4500 San Pablo Road S, Jacksonville, FL 32224. Ted was born in Columbus, Ohio, on February 12, 1942, and moved with his family to Elko, Georgia, when he was a young teenager. He graduated from Perry High School in the Class of 1960. He attended ABAC and transferred to the University of Georgia where he graduated and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. Ted returned to Elko to the family farm where he and his brother helped his father. For many years, Perfect Farms was a dairy farm. They also raised beef cattle, did some crop farming, and owned and operated Perfect Equipment Company. But dairy farming is what Ted did the most and loved it. Later, through over 50 years of farming, Ted worked long days and nights to provide for his family, but also gave the example to his sons that hard work and perseverance create the foundation for a successful business. Ted also was passionate about his family, his faith, and his little community of Elko. While he was a long-time member of Perry United Methodist Church, he saw a need and desire to revive Elko United Methodist Church, where he also became a member. While he knew it was not standard to be a member of two churches at one time, he still pushed away the norm and did what he wanted to do. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lauree Cooperrider Perfect. Left to cherish the memories of Ted are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Jane Willard Perfect of Elko; his children, Laurie Chandler (Bill) of Lawrenceville, Matthew Perfect (Judy) of Elko, and Danny Perfect (Candace) of Elko; seven grandchildren; his sister, Charlee Duke of Elko; his brother, Leo Perfect (Margaret) of Unadilla; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
