TALMADGE MOORE's Obituary
KATHLEEN- Talmadge A. Moore, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 21, 2018, after suffering a heart-attack. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Perry Memorial Gardens, immediately following the visitation. Mr. Moore was born in Tattnall County to the late Augustus Talmadge and Nancy Pauline Swindle Moore. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force then returned to Western Electric Telephone Company where he worked for 14 years. Mr. Moore then moved his family to Kathleen and began working in Avionics Repair for Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins. He retired after over 20 years of employment. Talmadge purchased a “hobby farm” and loved raising all kinds of animals, including cows, chickens, horses, and several other farm animals. He became a beekeeper, moving the bee boxes and collecting the honey from the hives. During his retirement, more and more Talmadge enjoyed his garden, planting and nurturing his vegetables to be distributed to his family and friends at harvest time. He also appreciated the simple mechanics of antique tractors, of which he had a nice collection, and spent some time restoring them to operational. Talmadge was preceded in death by his brother, Kimble Moore, and a nephew, David Powers. Left to cherish the memories of Talmadge are his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Ruth Moore of Kathleen and Atlanta; his children, Donna Avery (Steve) of Birmingham, AL, and Tim Moore (Patty) of Hiram, GA; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his sister, Judy Powers of Hawkinsville; his niece, Angela Ward (Bob) of California; and his nephew, Paul Moore of Gray. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
