SUZANNE MOORE's Obituary
PERRY –
Barbara Susan “Suzanne” Day Moore, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January
15, 2023, after an extended illness. A Memorial Visitation to celebrate her life will be
held on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral
Home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to
Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31210.
Suzanne was born in Montezuma on December 13, 1937. She was the Office Manager at
Gulf Life Insurance Company in Macon and retired at a young age. For over thirty-eight
years, she was married to the love of her life, Phillip G. Moore, Sr., and through the ups
and downs, still enjoyed every minute of it. From the beginning of their life together,
Suzanne inherited two precious little boys to love and treat as her own, which she did
with great pride. She and her husband owned and operated The Bottle Shoppe in
Marshallville for over nineteen years where she was the bookkeeper and “right hand” to
Phillip. A charter member of the Sweet PEAS (People Excited About Serving) since 2004,
Suzanne was delighted to gather with the same group of ladies to enjoy a meal and
discuss the various ways they would distribute the children’s alphabet books they
crafted together. Through the years, she loved working in the yard, tenderly planting
and nurturing her beautiful roses and her container gardens with carefully selected
seasonal plants and flowers. Suzanne never sat still, as she was always cleaning house,
washing cars, washing clothes, stocking shelves, and anything else she could find to
occupy her time. She was a caregiver by nature and continuously took care of
everything and everyone else.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Mildred Bussey Day; her
husband, Phillip Moore, Sr; and her two brothers, Tom Day and Dwight Day.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Suzanne are her sons and daughters-in-
law, Phillip and Julie Moore of Perry, and Walker and Monica Moore of Reynolds; her
grandchildren, Lanier Moore Myatt (Alex), John Walker Moore, Harleigh Moore Avant
(Jeffrey), and Hunter Moore; her close friend and confidant, Cathy Shaw; her cousin, Jim
Jackson (Alice) of Cumming; and several other extended family members.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at
www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the
arrangements.
