Jack was born on December 20, 1931, in Grovania to the late Stonewall Jackson Ellis, Sr. and Lula Frances Marshall Ellis. He was preceded in death by his sisters Marion Ellis Bronson and Jacquelyn Ellis Meeks. He lived on his family’s land his entire life. Along with his wife, he owned and operated Ellis Grocery. Since 1960, he was a dedicated member of Perry Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school secretary and treasurer. Jack was employed at Robins Air Force Base for 39 years. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time at home, raising cows on his farm, traveling with his family, and visiting with friends. One of the greatest joys of his life was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved them dearly and had a special relationship with each one. Left to cherish the wonderful memories of Jack are his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Glynis Bloodworth Ellis; his children, Ricky Ellis, Jackson Ellis, Edwin Ellis, Glynelle Ellis Beeland (Jimmy), Rex Ellis (Pam), and Wesley Ellis (Janet); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Emerson Bronson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a multitude of friends who will miss him as well. Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
