STACEY RATTERREE YOUNG's Obituary
PERRY –
Stacey Ratterree Young, 55, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Stacey was born in Hawkinsville on December 18, 1967, and was a lifelong resident of Houston County. After high school, Stacey found her calling as a cosmetologist, starting her career at Dale’s House of Styles. Through the years, her clients at the various salons in which she worked became her friends, and she treated them all like family. Stacey was very independent and had a zest for life and living. She enjoyed her job and fought to keep working for as long as her health would allow. The beach was one of her favorite places to spend time. A “family girl,” Stacey’s family was her greatest joy, especially her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Hunny.” She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville. She loved flowers, planting them and nurturing them to bloom beautifully, inside and outside her home. Her house plants thrived because of the attention and pampering they received and because of Stacey’s “green thumb.” She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Stacey was preceded in death by a sister, Kelly Ratterree, and her father, Wendell Ratterree.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Stacey are her loving and devoted partner and companion of ten years, Richard Black of Kathleen; her daughter and son-in-law, Leslee and Tommy Dean of Perry; her grandchildren, Tee Dean and Ryder Dean, both of Perry; her mother, Emily Cook Ratterree of Perry; her sister, Wendy Pitzer (Bill Weeks) of Perry; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful, four-legged companion, Duke, her German Shepherd.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
