Soubann Vongsack's Obituary
Soubann Vongsack, 69, of Irvington, Alabama, passed away, Monday, October 3rd at 12:11 PM at Springhill Hospital.A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 - 5:00 PM, Friday October 7 at Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Road, Mobile, Alabama 36619. Family and friends can visit from 1 PM to 5 PM. The funeral service will be on Saturday October 8th at Serenity Gardens from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm.Soubann Vongsack was born November 2nd 1946 in Laos. He became a monk early in life at age 5, until he resigned at the age of 20. In 1980 he immigrated to the United States and began work as a welder at Ingalls Shipbuilding working on production of naval ships. He also has served as a prayer leader for the local Buddhist temples. Soubann is survived by his son Damlong Vongsack; three daughters, Sarah Vongsack-Gousha, Zaneta Vangsack, and Miyada Vongsack; and his wife Bounyuen Vongsack; numerous grandchildren.
