PERRY -
Shirley Ann Everett Parker Lee, beloved mother, grandmother, educator, and friend, was born on November 11, 1935, in Braxton, Mississippi. She peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to family and community. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., and the Funeral will begin at 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Dogwood Columbaruim in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Gentiva Hospice, 105 Jim Mason Court, 100, Warner Robins, GA 31088, or www.gentivahs.com.
Shirley made Perry, Georgia her home in 1969, where she spent the majority of her life building deep roots and lasting relationships. She was a devoted educator who served as a teacher at Perry High School for many years, touching countless lives through her commitment to learning, guidance, and encouragement. Former students and colleagues, alike, remember her for her patience, warmth, and unwavering belief in the potential of every child. Shirley will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and quiet grace. Her life was one of purpose and compassion, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and taught. Above all else, Shirley treasured her family. She was the proud and loving mother of her sons, James, Darryl, Mike, and David, and a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Her home was a place of love, wisdom, and welcome, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Parker; her husband, Bill Lee; and her brother, Sonny Everett.
Survivors include her children, James Parker (Georgia) of Murrayville, Darryl Parker of Dunnedin, Florida, Mike Parker (Nicole) of Parker, Colorado, and David Parker (Amy) of Clearwater, Florida; her seven grandchildren, Laurel Ann Parker, Dean Parker, Julia Marie Parker, Aiden Parker, Ryan Parker, Emily Kate Parker, and Ashley Parker; her brother, Jerry Everett (Landis); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and administration at Summerhill, and her kindhearted friends, Norma Dean Parker and Vickie Walker, for their gentle and loving care of Shirley.
