SHAWN KUHN's Obituary
PERRY –
Shawn Thomas Kuhn, 21, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, October 11, 2021. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Cross Point Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Cross Point Baptist Church with Pastors Jason Mangrum and Michael Stovall officiating. Burial will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to The Shawn Kuhn Memorial Scholarship Fund, Perry High School, 1307 North Avenue, Perry, GA 31069.
Shawn was a 2018 Honor Graduate of Perry High School where he was actively involved as a thespian in the Theater of Performing Arts, and actually received the Best Supporting Actor award for his performance in The Lost Boy. He loved playing soccer for the Panthers and received the Coach’s Award one year, and enjoyed running with the Cross-Country team and was chosen to receive an award for his teamwork, kindness, and friendship to others. The AP classes at Perry High in which Shawn excelled sufficiently prepared him to succeed at the University of Georgia, where he was currently a senior on the Dean's List working towards a Bachelor Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. He worked as a Certified Personal Trainer at Ramsey Student Center on the UGA Campus and also worked at Chick-Fil-A in Athens where he started out as a Server and soon advanced to a Team Leader. Living in Athens naturally led Shawn to becoming an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, and he loved tailgating and cheering on the Dawgs. He was really looking forward to seeing the bulldogs play at every home game this year, and he will surely be cheering from the sidelines in Heaven. Shawn’s passion for people and serving others shone through all of his daily activities, whether he was working or not. He loved being around and helping others.
Shawn took many beach trips with friends and spent time hiking and camping through the years. He had become a competitive fisherman and fished in several tournaments with his dad. He was a member of Cross Point Baptist Church in Perry.
Shawn was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gary Kuhn, Sr., and his maternal grandmother, Nancy Brown.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Shawn are his loving, supportive, and devoted parents, Timothy and Roxanne Brown Kuhn of Perry; his sister, Sharla Kuhn of Perry; his cousin/brother, Kody Brown of Warner Robins; his maternal grandparents, Tommy and Wendy Brown of Warner Robins; his paternal grandparents, Steve and Diana Logan of Ft. Valley; his cousins, Trey Ogan, Jordanne Torres, Samantha Brown, TJ Brown, and Casey Brown; and his aunts and uncles, Lisa and George Ogan, and William Thomas and Kerri Brown; Gary and Roger Higson-Kunh; and his great-aunts and great-uncles, Gail and Joe Wade, Melody and Charley Bounds, Bob and Janice Logan, and Kenny and Angel Logan.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
