SCOTTY L. GREEN's Obituary
PERRY-
Scotty L. Green, 67, of Dumas, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Henderson Baptist Church in Elko, Georgia. Pastor Corry Craine of Warren Church in Augusta will officiate, with additional remarks from Pastor Kyle Woodfin of Henderson Baptist Church. Burial will be in Henderson Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 5757 Waterford District Drive, Suite 310, Miami, FL 33126.
Born to Priscilla Ann Davis and James Russell “Buck” Green, Scotty lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a deep appreciation for laughter and his family. For more than 35 years, he worked numerous positions for the phone company, but the one he truly loved was being a lineman. He took pride in doing every job the right way and built a reputation for dedication, skill, and unwavering work ethic.
Outside of work, Scotty found fulfillment in woodworking, tending his land from the seat of his tractor, and lending a hand to others with dirt-work and practical know-how. He was always willing to share his knowledge across the many trades he’d mastered, so long as you were willing to listen.
In his younger years, Scotty was an exceptional athlete with a mischievous streak, often surrounded by friends and the practical jokes that kept everyone laughing. As he grew older, he remained tough and fiercely stubborn, but his quick wit and sense of humor never faded—even in his final days. In 1994, he married his wife, and together they blended and built a family of six wonderful children, creating a home filled with love, resilience, and laughter.
Scotty was predeceased by his father, James “Buck” Green.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Scotty are his loving and devoted wife of thirty-one years, Tira Green of Perry; his children, Mendi Green of Sulphur Springs, TX, Vashti Talton (Justin) of Perry, Ashton Green (Casey) of Lawrenceville, Matt Green (Baylie) of Smyrna, Jarred Craine of Perry, and Lacey Green (Chris Wojcik) of Athens; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Prissy Green of Borger, TX; his sister, Jamie Reeves (Michael) of Borger, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
