Sara Henry White's Obituary
YATESVILLE-
Sara H. White, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Interment will be in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., the hour immediately preceding the service, at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to First Baptist Church of Perry, 1105 Main Street, Perry, GA 31069.
Mrs. White was born in Winter Garden, Florida, to the late George B. and Elvira Arnold Henry. She lived most of her life in Perry, Georgia, before moving to Yatesville to be near her son in 2010. A long-time member of First Baptist Church of Perry, she was also a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a Master Seamstress and enjoyed working as the seamstress at The Swank Shop in downtown Perry for many years. In 1981, she opened her own shop called Sara's Sew & Sew in Perry where she worked and enjoyed serving the public until her retirement in 1998. She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jean Rackley, and her beloved husband of 38 years, Ira Thomas White, Sr.
Left to cherish the memories of "Mrs. Sara" are her two sons, Ira T. "Tommy" White of Dublin, and Joe White (Carol) of Yatesville; her grandchildren, Savannah White, Thomas White, Christy Stice (Josh), Joseph White (Rhonda), and Gerald White (Zainab); and 5 great-grandchildren.
