Sara Lacey Harbuck's Obituary
MARSHALLVILLE-
Sara Lacey Harbuck, 83, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014, just 3 days before her 84th birthday. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Marshallville United Methodist Church. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service on Monday, September 8, 2014, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Marshallville Cemetery immediately following the service.
Mrs. Harbuck was born in Marshallville to the late Joseph Thomas Lacey and Harriett Skipper Lacey. A longtime member of Marshallville United Methodist Church, she was formerly the Secretary of the church and volunteered there a great deal. She worked for over 20 years as a Proofreader with The Daily Sun alongside her late husband, Horace Ray Harbuck. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Mrs. Harbuck's greatest treasure in life was her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Ray Harbuck; and her brothers, Robert Lacey and Billy Lacey.
Left to treasure the memories of Mrs. Harbuck are her daughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Carey Stewart of St. Simons Island, and Joannie and Danny Knight of Byron; her grandchildren, Naval LCDR Matthew Stewart (Carolina) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Sarah Madaris (Jason) of Newnan; her great-grandchildren, Sofia and Jameson Stewart, and Parker Madaris; and her beloved siblings, Barbara Stafford (Clayton) of Marshallville, Tommy Lacey (Moira) of Byron, Sue Mathis (Danny) and Ann Poole (Buddy), both of Ft. Valley; and many nieces and nephews.
