Born January 4, 1958, in Monroe, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Raymond William Peake, Sr. and Barbara Jeanette Shelley Peake. Mrs. Williams attended the University of South Carolina and transferred to Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in business administration. She would later earn her MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. Mrs. Williams enjoyed a very successful career in the banking and finance industry for more than four decades. She was very dedicated to her craft and was instrumental in breaking the glass ceiling for women in banking. Throughout her career, Mrs. Williams traveled extensively for her employers. She had the unique opportunity to visit every major US city and even traveled abroad to China, Philippines, India, Europe, and Canada. Most recently, Mrs. Williams was a partner in the banking and financial services division of ISG in Stamford, Connecticut.
Mrs. Williams lived her life to the fullest every day. Never taking a single moment for granted, she cherished every occasion with her husband, family, and friends. Mrs. Williams enjoyed the little things in life, like walks on the beach or lounging in the sun by the pool. She especially loved shopping trips with her nieces and nephews, where she had the opportunity to spoil each of them. Mrs. Williams was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to modern Pop music, and cheering on the University of South Carolina athletic teams. She adored attending church and was a member of Life Park Church in Mt. Pleasant. Even though she traveled extensively for work, Mrs. Williams still took great pleasure in the occasional extravagant vacation.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond William “Bo” Peake, Jr., and a sister, Shirley Jean Peak Payne.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-nine years, Joseph E. Williams; her sister, Glenda Rae Peake Cook; her nephews, Chevy Peake (Jessica), Rev. Steven Bouknight (Rhonda), and Jeff Bouknight; her nieces, Tabitha Armstrong (Mike) and Kelsey Morgan Teal; her great-nephews, CJ Peake, Gage Peake, Micaiah Bouknight, and Luke Bouknight; her great-nieces, Myra Armstrong and Ruby Bouknight; as well as her faithful four-legged companion, Alvin.
