SANDRA CAROL HUNT's Obituary
PERRY –
Sandra Carol Hunt, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at her home. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry with Dr. Ralph Swearingen officiating. A Celebration Reception will be held at Walker's SOHO Farm, Marshallville Road, Highway 127, Perry, immediately following the service. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A lifelong resident of Perry, Sandra was a 1961 graduate of Perry High School. She was a long-time, faithful member of First Baptist Church of Perry where she served and volunteered in many capacities through the years, especially when her children were young. She was most recently a member of the Patterson Sunday School Class (formerly Avon Buice SS Class). For over twenty years, she worked as the Family Services Counselor alongside her husband at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home providing professional service and compassionate care to families who had lost loved ones. Since her marriage to Riley in 1961, Sandra was a homemaker, creating a loving and welcoming environment in which they raised their children. She was an avid collector of recipes and was a fabulous cook, often adapting the recipes with “a pinch of this” or “a dash of that” to suit her taste. She was actively involved in her community and was a charter member of the Idaka Club of Perry, a ladies’ service organization. Sandra had a love for music, was a lifelong accomplished pianist, and spent time learning and playing the violin later in life. In the eyes of her family, she was always a cheerful and supportive wife, the best of loving mothers, and the most wonderful “Nina” to her grandchildren.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and O.V. Watson, and her son-in-law, Reggie Bradford.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Sandra are her loving and devoted husband of sixty-two years, Riley Hunt of Perry; her children, Holly Hunt Bradford of Atlanta, and George Hunt of Marietta; her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Nina,” Reilly Bradford, Caroline Bradford, Reeves Bradford, Piper Bradford, Bo Bradford, Rhett Bradford, and Emma Hunt.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
