SANDRA HAMSLEY HARPER's Obituary
HAYNESVILLE –
Sandra Hamsley Harper, 71, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cemetery at First Baptist Church of Haynesville with Reverend David Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Sandra was born in Hawkinsville to the late William Joseph “Buster” Hamsley and the late Corine Cannon Hamsley. She was a 1968 graduate of Perry High School. While attending Nursing School working towards an L.P.N. Degree, Sandra married the love of her life, David Albert Harper, and the couple made their home in Haynesville where she had grown up. She worked for several doctors in Perry, including Dr. Gallemore, Dr. Graham, and Dr. Dean, until she accepted a position in Human Resources at Kellwood. Once her sons began school at Kings Chapel Elementary, Sandra was a very active volunteer. She was soon offered a position as a paraprofessional which delighted her, and she retired after twenty years of service. Sandra was a loving and devoted wife, a nurturing and protective mother and grandmother, and the beloved “Aunt Sissy” to her nieces and nephews. She was generous, would do anything for those she loved, and always had a dish full of candy for her grandchildren and relatives when they came to visit. Sandra was a wonderful woman who loved riding motorcycles and enjoyed camping with her family in the mountains. A lady with a true servant’s heart, she enjoyed hosting her family and friends for breakfast, dinner, or supper, serving the best country-cooked meals.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Sandra are her loving and faithful husband of fifty years, David Harper; her son, Jason Harper; her son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Jenifer Harper; her grandsons, Kohen Harper and Karson Harper; her brothers, Danny Hamsley (Ann), Terry Hamsley (Cynthia), and Kenny Hamsley (Ember); and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
