Sammy was born on February 7, 1954, in Thomasville, Georgia. He is the son of the late Samuel Richard Walker and the late Pearl Brooks Walker. Sam gave his heart to the Lord in Charleston, South Carolina, many years ago as a young man and loved serving the Lord the rest of his life. Sam could fix almost anything and would volunteer to help anyone. When he gained a mother-in-law in her nineties, she loved Sammy and took full advantage of his many skills and his willing heart.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Sammy are his loving and devoted wife of seven years, Robyn Merritt Walker of Augusta; his sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel Jacob and Neoma Walker of Dallas, Georgia, and Christian Brooks and Kelsey Walker of Charleston, South Carolina; his only brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Diane Walker of Augusta; his nieces, Whitney Walker and Libby Walker Simons (Josh), both of Augusta; his nephew, William Walker (Laurah) of Fort Myers, Florida; and two great-nephews.
Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
