PERRY-Samuel Arthur York, Jr., 92, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016, in the Chapel at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Church Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will also be on Monday, December 26, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Mr. York was a retired ornamental plasterer who was self-employed and worked in the construction industry for 56 years. He was a master at his work and is known for lots of work on the Campground at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church, even work that he did in his 80's. He was a long-time member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. Mr. York was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel L. York, his daughter, Connie DuPree Hall.Survivors include his grandchildren, Bonnie Goodman Abney and Sam Goodman, both of Griffin; his great-grandchildren, Alicia Strickland, Matthew Strickland, Lauren Jackson, Ashlyn Goodman, Dakota Chambers, and Cheyenne Chambers; his great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Conner, Hope Conner, and Nathan Jackson; and his great-great-great-grandchildren, Abigail Conner and Isabel Conner.Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
